On the half day excursion to the Uros Island from Puno, we will learn about the way of life on the floating island, what the rafts and houses are made of, and even what the floating island was built from. You can also participate in artisanal fishing and learn about their local handicrafts.
Visiting the Uros Island is like walking on water, its first inhabitants were formed in the highlands and its origin dates back to pre-Inca times, at first the Uros lived on land, but as the Tiahuanacos were expanding the Uros to avoid being conquered by this culture decided to build houses on the island which is now known as “Floating Island of the Uros”.

To visit the island of the Uros from Puno, we can do it in three schedules:
Itinerary description:
- We will pick you up from your hotel in Puno city and head to the Port of Puno.
- We leave the port in the direction of Uros Island, where we will visit two islands.
- The approximate time to get there are 30 minutes.
- Once arrived at the site, we will visit two islands where you will learn about their way of life, customs and participate in activities such as fishing and handicrafts.
