We depart early from Cusco to Capuliyoc (2900 m), with a visit to the Saywite archaeological site en route. At Capuliyoc, our trek begins, and we will also meet our team of muleteers who will accompany us from now on.
We will have a view of the Apurímac Canyon (1500 m), where we might see condors soaring. We then descend to Chiquisca (1900 m) for lunch. Continuing our descent, we reach Playa Rosalinas (1500 m) and cross a bridge over the Apurímac River.
We then ascend in zigzags to the village of Santa Rosa (2000 m), where we will spend the night under the moonlight and the sounds of the animals. The family will prepare a comforting dinner for us.
