Before you Go

How Many Days Do I Need to Acclimate in Cusco?

To fully enjoy your visit to Machu Picchu, we recommend arriving in Cusco at least 24 to 48 hours before your tour, especially if you are traveling from a city at sea level. This adjustment period helps your body adapt to the altitude and reduces the risk of altitude sickness.

During your first days in Cusco, it is best to take it easy and avoid intense physical activity. Light tours are an excellent way to acclimate while exploring the region. Popular options include the Cusco City Tour, where you can visit places such as Sacsayhuamán and Qorikancha, or the Sacred Valley Tour, which offers a more gradual altitude adjustment in some areas compared to Cusco city.

If you experience symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness, or fatigue, we recommend resting, staying hydrated, and seeking medical advice if necessary.

Can I Store My Luggage at the Hotel?

Yes. Most hotels in Cusco offer luggage storage services while you are visiting Machu Picchu. We recommend bringing only the essentials for your tour and keeping important items such as passports, money, and electronic devices with you at all times. If your hotel provides a luggage claim ticket or storage receipt, be sure to request it for added security.

Passenger Pickup Information

Hotel pickup is available from accommodations located in Cusco’s historic center and designated coverage areas. If your hotel is outside the pickup zone, our team will coordinate a nearby meeting point for your convenience.

Pickup times may vary depending on traffic conditions and operational logistics. Final schedules will be confirmed through our official communication channels before your tour.

Important Information Before Your Tour

The weather at Machu Picchu can change quickly throughout the day, with sunshine, rain, and fog possible at any time. We recommend bringing a rain poncho or waterproof jacket, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable clothing, and water for the journey.

To ensure a smooth experience, please follow your guide’s instructions carefully and respect all schedules to avoid missing train or bus connections.

Group Tours

Shared group tours include travelers of different ages and nationalities, creating a dynamic and organized experience led by professional guides. We kindly ask all participants to be punctual and respectful of the group schedule throughout the tour.

Strikes and Social Demonstrations

In the event of strikes, roadblocks, or social demonstrations, passenger safety will always be our top priority. If necessary, we will offer alternative arrangements or rescheduling options based on availability and current operating policies.

Lost Items

We are not responsible for lost or forgotten personal belongings during the tour. Please make sure to check your belongings before leaving the transportation and at the end of your visit to Machu Picchu.

Frequently asked questions:

The Machu Picchu Full Day Tour from Cusco lasts approximately 12 to 16 hours, depending on train schedules and transportation connections between Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and Aguas Calientes. Yes. We highly recommend booking in advance because Machu Picchu entrance tickets are limited by circuit and entry time. Once you reserve your tour, your ticket will be arranged according to current availability. During high season, early booking is strongly recommended.
We recommend bringing your passport or ID, comfortable clothing, a rain jacket or poncho, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, water, and some snacks. A small backpack is ideal for the day trip. It is also recommended to carry some cash for personal expenses in Aguas Calientes.
If you are arriving from sea level, we recommend staying in Cusco for at least 24 to 48 hours before the tour to acclimatize properly.
