During this expedition, we get involved with thelocals of the communities we visit. As it is a trekking adventure we choose to spend the night in adequate campsites that do not affect the care of the environment.
In the same way, when we consume camping we eat outdoors, surrounded by the immense nature; then we take care to save and collect all the solid waste and objects that we have used and put them in the corresponding deposits.
With this action we contribute to take care of nature and minimize the damages. We want your trekking experience in Ausangate to be sustainable and respectful with the environment.
In addition, our guide and assistant will be in charge of collecting garbage such as plastic bottles, bags or other objects ensuring that every step we take is respectful of nature. Ausangate awaits you, our route will take you to discover extraordinary landscapes!
We leave Cusco towards Paqchanta in our journey we will pass through a magnificent landscape and some villages. In this place we will begin our hike and meet our muleteers, this day we will have the opportunity to see the 7 lagoons that are at the foot of the Ausangate mountain as: Comercocha, Azulcocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, Puqacocha, Alqacocha and Patacocha. We will also have the opportunity to find many alpacas and llamas in their natural habitat and vizcacha, high altitude flora and some birds; we will have the opportunity to take pictures of Ausangate at different points. We take our breakfast and get ready to walk, our path begins next to the Upis river, possibility to see the vizcachas and gradually begin to climb to reach the Arapa pass at 4780 m, this place is the closest place to take a picture with the Ausangate north face; then we will descend to the valley of Pucacocha and the lagoons of Huchuy Pucacocha and Hatun Pucacocha, where we can enjoy our lunch, then begin the ascent to reach the Alcatarwi pass at 4900 m, throughout this journey we will have a view of both the glacier and the lagoons, once arrived at the pass we will enjoy a spectacular view of the two sides, then begin to descend until we reach our camp in Anantapata 4700 m.

Our last day begins at dawn with a tough climb to the Huallata k'asa pass (5000m), we descend about 200m before climbing back up to the Vinicunca mountain (5036m) or mountain of seven colors. The view from the viewpoint is simply breathtaking, here, the layers of clay produce a magnificent rainbow on the crest of the mountain, giving it an unreal appearance. We change to the other side of the mountain and follow a line of ridges overlooking the great red valley, then we arrive at the parking lot where our vehicle awaits us and it is time to say goodbye to our local team of muleteers, we will return to the city of Cusco.
