Choquequirao Trekking Tour 4 days

The ruins of Choquekiraw are larger than Machu Picchu, but they are actually a hidden gem that is not easily accessible to visitors. The hike to the archaeological site of Choquequirao is an unparalleled experience that leaves all hikers with unforgettable memories. The majesty of the landscapes that can be appreciated during the trek is amazing, the biodiversity of flora and fauna that can be admired along the route is unique. The remoteness of the ruins and their beauty make Choquequirao a mysterious and charming tourist destination that, unlike Machu Picchu, has not yet been discovered by the great tourist masses.

That day we will walk through great scenery and reach the viewpoint of Capuliyoc 2,885masl (9,465 feet) where we will have a magnificent view of the Apurimac canyon, descend to Chiquisca where we will have our lunch. Then we continue to Playa Rosalina 1,500masl (1,500masl), which is the lowest area of the route where we cross the Apurimac River, then we find a road to climb, here is where the practice of agriculture is almost impossible but the locals take advantage of some streams to grow sugar cane and with that produce CAMBRAY (produced with sugar cane). We arrive at Santa Rosa 1,914 masl where our first camp is located.

Afterwards, we will have lunch and continue visiting the lower area where we will find cultivation terraces, water canals and warehouses.
