Tour in Search of the Temples of the Sun Peru and Bolvia

This trip combines the cultural and natural richness of the two sister countries, Peru and Bolivia. We will visit the region of Cusco and the majestic Inca city of Machu Picchu, then we will move to Lake Titicaca before heading to the sister republic of Bolivia, and know its desert regions and colorful altiplanic lakes.

You will be picked up and transferred to the airport to board the flight to the city of Cusco; upon arrival our staff will welcome you and transfer to the hotel. This day we consecrate with the visit to the ancient capital of the Inca empire and current archaeological capital of America; the visit begins with the tour of the city, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, which has paintings of the Cuzco school and many treasures of jewelry, silver and precious stones, then we go to the convent of Santo Domingo, "Temple of the Sun" or Q'oricancha. The excursion continues outside the city to visit the Inca complexes of Q'enqo, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco. The enormous stones of the outer walls of the complex were carved and joined with amazing precision. Some of these stones are over 09 feet high and weigh over 100 tons. In the afternoon we will have the option to walk down and stroll through the main streets and center of the city of Cusco.

This day we begin to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the banks of the Vilcanota River. The excursion begins with the Inca citadel of Pisaq, composed of terraces, fountains, observatories and a cemetery, the largest in the region, this was a point of control and dominion of the Incas in the Sacred Valley. After the visit we go down to the village and head to the traditional market of Pisac, there we will have the opportunity to discover the customs of the people and also to bargain with the vendors their handicrafts; then we continue to the heart of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, where we have lunch. We leave for the fortress of Ollantaytambo, located on the hill overlooking the town, buildings such as the "Temple of the Sun" and its gigantic monoliths stand out: the Mañaracay or Royal Hall, the Incahuatana and the Princess Baths. In the upper part stands a fortress, with a series of carved stone terraces, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the people of the jungle. This day after breakfast we head to the bus station and leave for Machu Picchu and see how spectacular is the citadel of Machu Picchu, "old peak", considered a jewel of Inca architecture: with neighborhoods, squares, houses, power centers as the "Temple of the Sun", agricultural areas, roads, observatories, etc.. We leave early in the morning towards the city of Puno. On this journey we first go to the town of Andahuaylillas, place where the church of San Pedro is located, better known as the "Sistine Chapel of South America", characterized by its richness and artistic beauty. Continuing with the trip we arrive to the archaeological center of Raqchi, place where we will know the spectacular sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec in honor of the God Wiracocha, this place has a great central wall with its base, carved in stone that shows the fine Inca architecture. Other walls were built with large adobe blocks. Moreover, the structure has two circular lateral columns around the temple with several buildings that were once houses and warehouses. Then we pass by the American camelid experimentation center of La Raya and later we stop in the town of Pucara, famous for its craftsmanship of the popular Pucara bulls and later we will be arriving in the city of Puno, there will be your transfer to the hotel.

This day we undertake the route near the border with Chile to the south, we cross the "Ruta de las Joyas", which is a set of four lagoons of different colors, such as the Cañapa, Hedionda, Ch'arkota Honda and Ramaditas, all these are habitat sanctuaries of three varieties of flamingos. In the morning we revisit the Laguna Colorada, with its different shades of red coloration and populated by thousands of flamingos making a majestic scenery; its intense coloration is due to the presence of millions of microscopic crustaceans "Artemia", widely studied by scientists for their incredible properties of adaptation in a saline environment. / This route will take us through the "Sol de Mañana" geysers (4,850 m), formed by volcanic craters, where we will witness geothermal activity escaping sulfur vapors and heavy water.
