This package is designed for travelers with little time but determined to go deep into the jungle and live unforgettable experiences. In just a few days, you will be able to hike, navigate the Amazon River and observe a great variety of flora and fauna. At the end of each day, you will enjoy the sunsets that only the Amazon can offer. You can visit us all year round, the only difference is the water level of the rivers. Each season has its own charm: when it is waning (July-October) we take longer walks; there are white sandy beaches in the Amazon and fishing is easier. When it is half moon (December-May), trips are made by canoe, which allows a better observation of the animals near the treetops.
Transfer by land from the hotel or airport to the port of Iquitos, from where we depart by the Amazon River to the lodge. Afterwards we have lunch. Later, you will take the Leoncito hike where you can appreciate the enormous variety of flora that exists around the lodge. You will also be amazed by the huge ceiba tree. You will also be able to see the world's smallest monkey, the leoncito, as well as the fraile and the pichico. You are likely to see the howler monkey, whose deafening roar can be heard from miles away. In the afternoon you will enjoy a sunset over the jungle of mirrors, returning to Muyuna. Dinner and night boat ride to see caimans, birds and nocturnal mammals. At the end of this excursion we will return to the lodge for the night.
Return to the lodge for lunch and then continue with excursions to the Corriente and Purura lagoons, where you can fish for different species, including the famous piranha. Dinner and, later, night walk in search of toads and huge frogs, the favorite food of the anacondas. You will also see several species of tarantulas. At the end of the walk you will return to the lodge.
Breakfast with local fruits. Then continue with excursions on the Amazon River, where you will experience the most magical moment of your trip, swimming in the river where the pink and gray dolphins live. They are often seen, but don't expect to touch them. On the way back to the lodge you will see the largest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia, and it is also easy to see iguanas. This is an area with many "choke" vines, the favorite haunt of the "hoatzin" or shansho bird. This colorful bird resembles a prehistoric bird, as it has three claws on the central joint of the wing. Lunch and excursion by boat or canoe on the Jorge Caño River in search of different types of monkeys, especially the howler monkey. On the way back, we will spend the afternoon with the friendly inhabitants of the jungle in San Juan de Yanayacu. The visit is very spontaneous, sometimes travelers play soccer with them or just stroll around the village. Later, dinner and then a canoe ride, to feel the sounds more closely.
Boat excursion to the Casha Lagoon, a lagoon of difficult access. Here you walk or paddle depending on the level of the river, observing different species of birds and monkeys. Together with your guide, you fill in the animal notebook. After lunch you have the transfer to Iquitos and then ground transfer to your hotel or airport.
