Day 1: Cusco - Capuliyoc - Chiquisca - Santa Rosa

We leave the hotel very early in the morning to go to the town of Curahuasi, where we will visit the archaeological site of Saywite, another archaeological remains little visited. We will continue our journey until we reach Capuliyoc, where our hike begins and we will meet the team of muleteers, with whom we will travel from now on.

We will have a view of the Apurimac canyon (1,500 m) here you can see the flight of condors, then we descend until we reach Chiquisca, where we will have lunch. We continue descending until we reach the beach, Rosalinas and pass by the Apurimac River.

Then we zigzag up to the hamlet of Santa Rosa, where we spend the night in the company of the moon and the song of the animals. The cooks prepared a comforting dinner for us.

Day 2: Santa Rosa - Marampata – Choquequirao

We do not wake up with the birds singing, we have breakfast and prepare for our hike, along the way we will see that the trail is full of wild flora and fauna.

Some parts of the route are a bit difficult because we are going uphill until we reach Marampata (2900 m), where we will rest, but first we will visit sector VII of the archaeological complex of Choquequirao. We visit Pikiwasi and the priest's house, the main square, the hanan (upper part) and the hurin (lower part). Then we will descend to the terraces that impress us because they drew the Andean camelid "llama" and are made of stone. .

So far only 40% of the totality has been discovered, some researchers claim that this center could be bigger than Machu Picchu. After the visit, we return to our lodge in Marampata to rest.

Day 3: Marampata - Río Blanco - Maizal

Today we leave very early, and we say goodbye to Choquequirao, we arrive at Pinchaunuyoc (2750 m), among other archaeological remains that are inside that greenish mountain.

We will rest at Rio Blanco, where we will take our well-deserved rest and have lunch. Then we leave towards Maizal where we will spend the night and be closer to the sacred Apus of the Incas.

Day 4: Maizal - Minas Victori - Yanama

Cuando visitas en un solo tour tienes la ventaja de conocer los dos sitios arqueológicos más importantes de la ciudad de Cusco, caminaras por el camino Inca y conocerás los demás restos arqueológicos poco visitados, la flora y fauna, paisajes sorprendentes, se podría decir que es uno de los mejores paquetes de trekking. 

Cuando haces el tour por separado solo tienes la opción de conocer esos centros arqueológicos, pero no todo lo que le rodea y la importancia por la cual fue construida.

Para hacer este tour es necesario contratar los servicios de una agencia de viajes, porque te brinda el personal especializado, programan tus días de caminata, alimentación, entre otros servicios que presta una agencia.

En cambio, ir por cuenta propia podría ser dificultoso, además que corres el riesgo de perderte en el camino, no contarás con un guía, la alimentación.

La mejor época para visitar estos dos sitios arqueológicos es en la temporada seca que va desde el mes de abril a octubre, hay poca presencia de lluvias, los días son más soleados y te permiten disfrutar el paisaje y tus caminatas son seguras.

Debes de saber que el camino es exigente, por lo que debes de entrenar tus piernas, hacer caminatas, trabajar la resistencia cardiovascular para cuando hagas el trekking no tengas dificultades y antes de viajar debes de aclimatarte en la ciudad de Cusco al menos 1 o 2 días.

Lo primero que debemos de hacer cuando estemos en la ciudad de Cusco es descansar al máximo por lo menos los dos primeros días, no hacer algún esfuerzo físico, hidratarse constantemente, no consumir alimentos pesados como las grasas. También puedes combatirlo con el mate de coca o algunos caramelos de coca que te ayudarán a combatir el mal de altura.

Debes de prestar mucha atención aquí: debes de llevar ropa cómoda y liviana, zapatillas de trekking, bastones de trekking, sombrero o gorro, protector solar, repelente para los mosquitos, bastante agua, snacks y si quieres algunas pastillas que te ayuden con el mal de altura.
