The visit to the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and current archaeological capital of America begins with the impressive site of Sacsayhuamán, a strategic construction located on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco.
Next, we will visit other Inca archaeological sites, including Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, and Q’enqo. Afterwards, we return to the city to visit the Cusco Cathedral, which is beautifully decorated with several altarpieces finished in gold leaf and features magnificent paintings by native artists from the Cusco School. Finally, we will visit the Temple of the Sun, also known as Q’oricancha, which was the ancient site of worship and veneration of the Inca gods.
