Can you imagine exploring two wonders near Cusco in a short time? Let me tell you about the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain and the Inca Q’eswachaka Bridge. Unlike Vinicunca, Palcoyo allows you to reach the summit by transport, without the need for long hikes or prior acclimatization. It's ideal for families and adventurers looking to avoid crowds. Palcoyo offers the stunning "Valley of Colors" in a peaceful and accessible setting.

Then, crossing the historic Inca hanging bridge, Q’eswachaka, made from vegetal fibers and hand-woven, is a living relic of Quechua culture and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 1
Pobladores Qeswachaka
Qeswachaka Bridge

Cusco – 4 Lagune – Huinchiri – Ponte Q'eswachaka

Today we will begin our adventure around 7:00 am heading towards Q’eswachaka. Our first stop will be the area of 4 lagoons, where we will visit the lagoons of Pomacanchi, Acopia, and Poscococha. We will have some time to take photos and enjoy the beautiful views surrounding us.

We will continue the journey until we reach the community of Huinchiri, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch and spend the night. In the afternoon, we have an important activity ahead: the reconstruction of the bridge. Once at the site, we will participate in the ceremony led by our expert guide and members of the communities responsible for this task. We will start by harvesting the local Ichu, then proceed to twist and braid it, perform the necessary bindings, and finally create a model of the bridge.

Palcoyo Mountain

Huinchiri – Palcoyo Mountain – Cusco.

We will start the day with a delicious breakfast while enjoying the beautiful countryside sunrise. We will then continue our journey to the community of Palcoyo (4,560 m), from where we will proceed for approximately 20 minutes until we reach the Huayllatakunka Pass (4,805 m).

From this point, we will walk for about 45 minutes to the Rainbow Mountain Range, a spectacular landscape where the ochre, red, green, blue, and white tones bring to life the lesser-known Rainbow Mountain Range of Palcoyo. Additionally, we will enjoy the stone forest.

We will then return to our vehicle and begin the journey back. We will make a stop at a restaurant for lunch. Finally, we will return to Cusco.
