At the indicated time, we will depart in a private minivan to the starting point of our route, at the base of the majestic Ausangate Mountain.
The hike will start in Tinki, passing through several remote villages and streams until reaching Upis, where our tents will be set up and the cook will prepare a delicious lunch.
Afterward, we will have the option to explore the lakes for approximately 2 hours. This first night will offer the chance to enjoy an unforgettable starlit sky, a memory to cherish forever.
Cusco (3330 m) Tinki (3800 m) – Upis (4150 m)
At 5:00 am, we will start the day with coca tea and a delicious breakfast. Our journey will begin towards the Arapa Pass (4960 m), guided by our Spanish-speaking expert, who will share details about the flora, fauna, and landscape.
During the trek, we will admire picturesque lakes and, if we’re lucky, spot the majestic condor. We will reach the Pucacocha campsite, surrounded by imposing mountains and hanging glaciers, offering a fascinating natural spectacle. As usual, we will set up our tents to rest, take a nap, and enjoy lunch and dinner prepared by our professional chef.
Upis – Arapa Pass (4960 m) – Pucacocha (4600 m)
This day will be challenging but short. We will start with the Pucacocha Pass (5050 m), surrounded by very colorful mountains; from here, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the snow-capped Ausangate and the colorful glacier lakes.
Next, we will enter the Red Mountain Valley, an untouched landscape with vibrant colors where we might see llamas grazing nearby. As we approach the campsite, we will continue to enjoy a wonderful view of the rocky mountains. Upon arrival, we will have lunch and recharge our energy before resting and preparing for the next big day.
Pucacocha (4600 m) – Abra Pucacocha (5050 m) – Ananta (4700 m)
We will wake up early with coca tea, followed by breakfast. Our hike will begin with an ascent to the Ananta Pass (4700 m), where we will spot the Rainbow Mountain in the distance. We will then descend to circle the lake and continue to the final ascent towards the impressive Rainbow Mountain.
From there, we will enjoy a 360° panoramic view, with explanations about the minerals that give color to the mountains. After a rest, we will return to the Ananta campsite for lunch and then proceed to Ausangate Lake (Ausangate Cocha), our next camping site.
Ananta (4700 m) – Rainbow Mountain (5036 m) – Ausangate Lake (4650 m)
We continue in the Chilca Finaya Valley and ascend to the Abra Palomani (5200 m), the highest point of our trek. We will pause to catch our breath and enjoy the beauty of the landscape. We will observe the eternal snows of Ausangate and Ausangate Lake (4650 m), then descend to the shepherds' huts and the village of Huano Huano (4430 m). Afterward, we will continue to Ticllacocha Lagoon (4470 m) and then to the campsite in the small Jampa Valley (4600 m).

Change and Cancellation Policies
Tour rescheduling is allowed with adequate notice, except for tours to Machu Picchu. No-shows will result in the total loss of the service. Cancellations or withdrawal from the service will not be eligible for a refund.
