Our journey will begin early as we head into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, home to the Urubamba River.
We will cross towns that still retain their imperial past until we reach Pisac (3350m), an impressive Inca site with terraces, fountains, and the largest regional Inca cemetery. This is where the Incas controlled the valley.
Next, we will travel to the Lares Valley (3150m) in a 3-hour vehicle ride, with stops to enjoy scenic viewpoints. We will spend the night near natural hot springs (37°C), perfect for swimming and relaxing.

After a nutritious breakfast, we prepare for our new adventure with our belongings secured on llamas and horses as we head towards the Lares Valley.
We will gradually descend into the lush Amazon jungle, marveling at the views of the river unfolding before us, and then ascend to Rosas Pata, a charming village with views of the Lares River Valley.
Next, we will descend to the Cochayoc Valley, home to the village of the same name. Here, the local shepherds will welcome us, and we will immerse ourselves in their daily life, approaching flocks of llamas, alpacas, and sheep while learning about their customs in their company.
Lares (3150 m) - Rosas Pata (3305 m) - Cochayoc (3745 m)
In the morning, weather permitting, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Terijuay mountain range and Yanacocha Lagoon. We will then walk from Cochayoc to the Cuypan Pass (4550 m) and continue our journey towards Pisac before ascending to the pass of the same name.
The ascent will be challenging, but the views are worth it. We will set up camp near a lagoon, from where we can see several snow-capped peaks.
In the afternoon, we will move to a new family’s home to spend the night in the Challwacocha community.
Pampa Wasi (4200 m) - Abra De Pisac (4550 m) - Challwacocha
We continue our adventure by descending into the Patacancha Valley. Once in the village, we will learn more about their lives as shepherds and master weavers.
We will then continue our descent to Ollantaytambo, a 15th-century Inca town that has remained virtually unchanged.
After the visit, we will board a train that follows a legendary route winding through the Sacred Valley, dominated by the peak of Veronica (5820 m). Our train will enter the Urubamba Canyon and descend to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), at 2000 m.

Built on a mountainside surrounded by semi-tropical vegetation, it was discovered on July 24, 1911, by Hiram Bingham. Our two-hour guided tour will take us through its most iconic sites.
