The salt flat of Arequipa is located at an altitude of 4300 meters above sea level next to the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca in the district of San Juan, exactly in the community of Salinas Huito.

At the same time its impressive landscape is surrounded by queñua and yareta, among the fauna are the vizcacha, tarucas, camelids (vicuñas, llamas and alpacas) and a variety of high Andean birds.
