Inti Punku in Ollantaytambo

The Inti Punku is a unique destination in the district of Ollantaytambo, being a portal built of stone that is located in the upper part of the place and that according to several theories could have served as a checkpoint on the way to Machu Picchu.

Routes to Inti Punku

Route 1: Cusco- Ollantaytambo- Inti Punku

Choosing this route, we leave Cusco to reach the district of Ollantaytambo and then we take a 4-hour trek approximately in the direction of Inti Punku.

Route 2: Cusco- Ollantaytambo- Kachi Qhata- Inti Punku

We leave from Cusco and upon arriving in Ollantaytambo, we are transported in a vehicle to Kachi Qhata (nearby community) and from there we start trekking for about 3 hours to reach Inti Punku.

      The word Inti Punku, comes from the Quechua language that means "Gate of the Sun", the same that is at the highest point and is the most spectacular cover that you will appreciate throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
