You will find Incan archaeological sites along a trail that offers spectacular views. Additionally, in a setting full of spirituality, the Incas used this path as a pilgrimage route to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu.

Cusco – KM 82 – Ayapata

We depart by bus from Cusco at 5:30 am. Along the way, we will see vast fields and villages that preserve their ancient traditions.

Upon reaching Kilometer 82, we will meet the support team (porters) and begin the Inca Trail. After three hours of hiking, we will have lunch in Hatunchaka (3000 m), a small village where you can buy water, snacks, and use the restrooms. Then, we continue to our campsite in Ayapata (3300 m), the last village on the route.

Ayapata – Llulluchapampa – Warmihuañusca – Pacaymayu

In the morning, we will continue our journey, ascending through the Ayapata Gorge (3300 m), reaching Lulluchapampa (3850 m), and then the highest point called "Warmiwañusca" (4200 m), from where we will see the stunning Nevado Verónica.

After enjoying the view, we will descend to the Pacaymayo Valley (3500 m), where we will have lunch and spend the night at the campsite with the same name.

Pacaymayo – Runcuracay – Phuyupatamarka – Wiñayhuayna

The third day is the longest and most beautiful due to the constant changes in the ecosystem. In the morning, we will continue our trek to the Runcuracay Pass (3950 m), where we will have a panoramic view of the Aobamba Valley (3400 m) deep within the increasingly dense tropical forest. We will visit the archaeological sites of Runcuracay (3750 m), Sayacmarka (3650 m), and Phuyupatamarca (3600 m), where we will have lunch before proceeding to the final campsite at Wiñayhuayna (2650 m).

Machu Picchu

Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco

After waking up at 3:00 am, we will head to the checkpoint with our flashlights. On this day, we will have a packed breakfast instead of a traditional one.

We will then continue to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) at 2780 m, where the sunrise over Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu will appear before us. At 8:00 am, we will visit the Machu Picchu citadel (2400 m), a place that will enrich us with its history and culture (2-hour guided tour), in harmony with nature.

Finally, we will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch, and then take a train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus ride to Cusco (3350 m).

Conditions:

  • Participants must bring their own backpack with personal items, including sleeping bag and mattress.
  • Tierras de los Andes will not provide any refunds if the participant decides to cancel the trip or withdraw from the Inca Trail (except for the entrance to Machu Picchu and the train ticket from Aguas Calientes to Cusco).
  • Participants must declare if they have any illnesses or personal treatments and must bring their own medication.
  • Tierras de los Andes will not be responsible for natural problems (landslides) or other issues, such as strikes and delays in train departures.
  • All participants must bring their original passport and, if applicable, a student ID.
