Day 1

Ecoamazonia Lodge

Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Ecoamazonia Lodge

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, we will greet you and head to the Capitanía Port to depart for the lodge.

If the weather permits, we will see colorful plants like giant-flowered heliconias and animals such as capybaras, caimans, turtles, and more.

Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch in the rustic dining area. In the afternoon, we will visit Cocha Caimán, a small lagoon where we can observe black caimans and white caimans, the main local predators. We will then witness the spectacular Amazon sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Lodge – Excursiones Selva

After breakfast, we will start a walk through the deep forest, offering the chance to spot mammals such as the peccary and the agouti, as well as rodents, primates, and birds.

Upon reaching the majestic Apu Víctor Lake, we will enjoy panoramic views and a variety of wildlife from the Amazonian Lookout. On our return to the lodge, a refreshing lunch will be waiting for us, and in the afternoon, we will visit Monkey Island, located in the heart of the Madre de Dios River. This island features a vast array of lush flora and is home to numerous primate species. Back at the lodge, you can savor a delicious dinner.
