Upon arrival in Lima, a representative will meet you and assist with the transfer from the international airport to your chosen hotel.
Lima (150 m)
In the morning, you will board your flight to Arequipa. In the afternoon, we will visit the most iconic places, starting with the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, which offers views of the Misti, Pichu Pichu, and Chachani volcanoes.
Next, we will explore the beautiful Yanahuara district, famous for its sillar arches, continue to the Santa Catalina Monastery, a religious treasure founded in 1579, and then to the Plaza de Armas, the minor basilica of Arequipa, and the impressive Church of the Company of Jesus.
Optionally, you can visit the Museo Santuarios Andinos, which houses pre-Inca and Inca artifacts, including the famous mummy Juanita.
Lima (150 m) - Arequipa (2330 m)
After breakfast, we will pick you up at your hotel to begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world, the Colca Canyon, in Chivay.
We will depart via the Yura road towards the Pampa Cañahuas, home to the area's characteristic wildlife, such as vicuñas and migratory birds. We will stop at the Volcano Viewpoint, the highest point on the route, where we can enjoy magnificent views of the western mountain range and snow-capped volcanoes like Hualca Hualca and Ampato.
Finally, we will arrive in Chivay, in the Caylloma province, and take you to your hotel. Optionally, you can enjoy the hot springs at "La Calera" (additional charge).
Arequipa (2330 m) - Volcano Viewpoint (4950 m) - Chivay (3600 m)
The day includes a visit to Lake Titicaca and its islands. We will start with the Uros Island, famous for its floating islands made of totora reeds, where the inhabitants practice fishing, crafting, and collecting eggs to sell in Puno.
Next, we will head to Amantaní Island (approx. 45 minutes), where we will visit rural homes and enjoy a typical lunch. We will have time to explore the island and visit the ceremonial centers. At the end of the day, we will share dinner with local families and participate in a folkloric dance with Andean music and traditional costumes.
Puno (3850 m) - Uros Island (3850 m) - Amantaní Island (4150 m)
In the morning, we will have breakfast in Amantaní and then head to Taquile Island, famous for its ancestral weavers.
After a boat ride, we will arrive at the port and head to the main square, where community life and collective work are fundamental, along with Inca principles of honesty and hard work that are deeply rooted in the local culture. We will enjoy a typical buffet lunch and then return to Puno by boat, concluding our journey.
Amantaní Island (4150 m) - Taquile Island (4050 m) - Puno (3850 m)
Free morning. In the afternoon, we will admire the beauty of the imperial city, starting with the Cusco Cathedral, which is magnificently decorated inside. Next, we will visit Qoricancha or the Temple of the Sun, a place dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, which housed treasures and ceremonial gold objects.
We will then head to the outskirts of the city to visit the archaeological sites of Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Q'enqo, and Sacsayhuamán, famous for its intricate carved and fitted stone walls. Finally, we will return to Cusco.
Cusco (3330 m) - Sacsayhuamán (3700 m) - Cusco
After bidding farewell to our host families and enjoying an Andean breakfast, we will embark on a 5-hour hike through the natural balcony of the Sacred Valley, with panoramic views of Lamay, Calca, Coya, and Pisac, as well as the snow-capped peaks of La Verónica, Pitusutay, and Sawasiray.
We will continue ascending slowly, passing through Sihuas and reaching the archaeological remains of Pucamarca at 4,000 meters, an ancient checkpoint. We will then descend to the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo at 3656 meters, crossing the impressive León Punku canyon, with its Inca ruins and spectacular scenery. Upon reaching Huchuy Qosqo, we will explore and enjoy the Sacred Valley.
Patabamba (3800 m) - Pucamarca (4000 m) - Huchuy Qosqo (3656 m)
After breakfast, we will head to the Inca archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, where we will explore its impressive architecture and enjoy panoramic views.
We will continue our hike towards the Piuray Lagoon, taking in the changing landscape and typical wildlife, until we reach the highest point of the hike: the Pucajasa Pass (4393 m), from where we can view the lagoon and observe a variety of birds while having lunch in a natural setting.
Next, we will descend to the village of Chinchero, where we will spend the night.
Huchuy Qosqo (3656 m) - Pucajasa Pass (4390 m) - Tauca (3850 m) - Chinchero (3850 m)
We will continue our exploration of the Sacred Valley of the Incas from Chinchero, a town with notable Inca roots. We will then travel to Moray, where we will visit a unique archaeological complex of circular terraces used as agricultural laboratories. Next, we will head to the Maras salt mines, where salt is traditionally harvested.
In Ollantaytambo, we will admire the Inca architecture and the fortress on the hill. Finally, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village) for an overnight stay, concluding our day.
