Our adventure will be 5 days of walking in the Peruvian highlands, and along this journey we will visit several tourist spots, we will stay in two local communities, in which the inhabitants houses will be part of our lodging, at the same time the ladies and gentlemen do not prepare their local food, they will expose us the work they do as ceramics, textiles and others. At the same time we will participate in some activities such as planting trees, plant care, among others.
By participating in this trekking we are taking care of the environment, we avoid throwing garbage, we carry water in our canteens or tomatodo. During the hike we will have the support of our specialized guide, muleteers and some llamas for support.
Every step we take on this journey we are contributing to the care of nature, communities and preserve the customs and teachings of our past in each locality that is shown.
Summary of your trip
We depart by bus to Tambomachay, an enigmatic archaeological complex of ceremonial center dedicated to water, we continue our journey and our first stop of this adventure at Sicllaccasa Pass (4200 m), which reveals breathtaking views of Cusco and a valley towards Qorao.
We cross a picturesque valley and ascend to the magical Yanacocha Pass (4300 m), where we will marvel at the Yanacocha and Qoricocha lagoons, home to diverse bird life.
Our lunch becomes a feast accompanied by panoramic views of Ausangate and Salkantay. We descend to Qenqo (3900 m) and then to Patabamba (3850 m), here the family will give us a warm welcome. After settling in, we explore the charming village and share an authentic dinner with our friendly host family in the inhabitant's house.
Cusco (3330 m) - Yanacocha Pass (4300 m) - Patabamba (3850 m).
The trail begins with breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through the balconies of the Inca and arriving at the village of Sihua. We climb to the Pukamarca pass (4000 m), and about 100 m ahead we will arrive at the village of Pukamarca or red village, here we will enjoy lunch.
Then we will descend to the Puma Puncu canyon or Puma's door, here we will walk along an ancient Inca trail restored by the Qapac Ñan project, which leads us to the mysterious site of Huchuy Qosqo or little Cusco 3600 m.
In this archaeological center we will visit its temples, warehouses and Inca terraces made of stone and adobe. Afterwards, we ascend 15 minutes to our lodge, where a family will receive us to spend the night in the inhabitant's house, but first they will prepare our dinner and breakfast for the next day.
Patabamba (3850 m) - Puka Marca Pass (4000 m) - Huchuy Qosqo (3600 m)
In the morning we will descend 2 hours to reach the village of Lamay where our vehicle will take us to the impressive archaeological site of Pisac (3400 m). This site is unique in Peru for its majestic and vertiginous construction from where the Incas controlled and dominated the Sacred Valley.
The archaeological center of Pisac surprises by the amount of terraces, fountains, rooms, observatories and the largest cemetery in the region (about 4,800 people were found buried) and is nestled among the high peaks of the Urubamba mountain range.
We continue descending on foot until we reach the village of Pisac (3000 m), we explore its handicraft market, then we go towards Ollantaytambo, a preserved 15th century Inca village, once here we will visit and head to the hotel to rest and get ready to go to dinner.
Huchuy Qosqo (3600m) - Lamay (2900m) - Pisac (3400m) - Ollantaytambo (2750m)
Very early in the morning by train, we depart to Km 104, from here begins our fascinating hike, in which we will visit the ancient ruins of Chachabamba. After three hours of ascent between clouds and vegetation, we arrive to an impressive waterfall and then to the ruins of Wiñay Wayna, our expert guide will make us explore this historical jewel.
Then we continue until we reach Inti Punku or sun gate that gives us a majestic view of Machu Picchu.
We descend to the top of Machu Picchu to take pictures and end the day in Aguas Calientes, at our hotel.
Ollantaytambo (2750 m) - Km 104 (2170 m) - Wiñay Wayna (2700 m) - Aguas calientes (2040 m)
By bus we depart to Machu Picchu. We will see the spectacular Inca citadel or "old mountain", considered a jewel of Inca architecture. Here we will have a guided tour of 2 hours, where we will visit the most representative places of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
We will walk through the alleys of the citadel, its neighborhoods, its squares, its royal houses, its agricultural areas, its trails and its observatories. Once the tour is over, we return to Aguas Calientes and then we go to the train station to leave for Ollanta or Poroy and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
Aguas Calientes (2,040 m) - Machu Picchu (2.450 m) - Cusco (3350 m)
